September 2024 Market Report September...the month of transition!  The final shakeout of the summer market and transition to the fall market. An $8.3k decline in the month-over-month Avg. Sale price, now sitting at $579,290. A 9% decline in sales. Listings have increased by 167, though this includes relisted homes.
Here are just some factors and concerns for September's slowdown that have been voiced in conversation: - Beginning of school year. - Many have just returned from summer vacation. - Waiting to get back into fall routine. - Interest rate cut announcement. - Waiting on future anticipated rate cuts. - US elections (impacting our economic outlook). - Potential call for an early Canadian Federal election.
With 2 more B of C rate cuts upon us, amongst other things, the feeling for Q4 is optimistic. Will October see a reversal of the current trend and maintain a slow and steady climb?
