Housing Crisis? Immediate Solutions Exist!Definition of Crisis: A time of intense, difficulty, trouble or danger; Okay, fair enough. I can see this applying to our current state of economy and housing…to some degree. How are Crises created? A crisis can occur as a result of an unpredictable event or an unforeseeable consequence of some event that has been considered as a potential risk. In either case, crises almost invariably require that decisions be made quickly to limit damage. Well, I think it’s safe to say that the government had all the data necessary to PREDICT what would happen if population growth was increased, yet infrastructure or means to deliver infrastructure was not in place. There was a time when a country was extremely satisfied to see the population growth in any given year. Jobs were formed and the amount of tax money paid to the Country increased! However, it’s clear there does need to be a balance. Generally if your basement is flooding, you don’t plug the drains and turn on all the faucets. Today we are clearly experiencing a population flood on Canadian soil. As much as this is a welcomed concept, if you open the flood gates it is imperative that you take measures to service it. The concern lies, how do we remove the national stress that our current population is putting on the healthcare system, housing supply and overall inflation topics? Immediate solutions both at the national and local levels here in Windsor/Essex County DO exist for immediate relief!
